SideSwap is pleased to announce the upcoming release of SideSwap 1.9.0, introducing Liquid Connect, a native connectivity standard for the Liquid ecosystem.

Developed in house by SideSwap, Liquid Connect enables secure, self custodial communication between wallets and web applications built on Liquid. The implementation is purpose built for Liquid assets, confidential transactions, and atomic swaps. Liquid Connect will soon be released for other wallet operators and developers to integrate.

Wallet 1.9.0 will be available on both desktop and mobile platforms.

What Is Liquid Connect

Liquid Connect allows users to:

• Connect their SideSwap wallet to Liquid enabled websites via QR code or deep link
• Approve and sign transactions directly inside the wallet
• Interact with swaps, token platforms, and smart contract applications
• Maintain full control of private keys at all times

The protocol establishes a standardized communication layer between Liquid wallets and applications, designed specifically for the technical requirements of the Liquid Network.

Opening the Standard to the Ecosystem

Liquid Connect is designed to be adopted across the ecosystem. SideSwap will make the implementation available for integration, enabling:

• Other Liquid wallets to support the same connectivity standard
• Web applications to integrate multiple Liquid wallets through a unified interface
• A shared infrastructure layer for interoperable financial products

The objective is to create a common connectivity framework for Liquid based applications.

Swap Engine Access via Liquid Connect API

In addition to wallet connectivity, Liquid Connect provides access to SideSwap’s native swap engine through its API layer.

This enables third party applications to:

• Let users atomically swap assets into on chain contracts
• Build Simplicity based financial products
• Create prediction markets and structured outcome contracts
• Integrate SideSwap liquidity and order book functionality

Developers can build blockchain based capital markets on Liquid without operating their own exchange infrastructure.
