SideSwap is pleased to announce the release of SideSwap 1.9.1, now available on desktop and mobile platforms.
This update builds directly on Liquid Connect, the native connectivity standard for the Liquid ecosystem introduced in version 1.9.0, and focuses on giving users and developers deeper control over the wallet at the UTXO level.
What Is New in 1.9.1
- Unblinded UTXO management - View and manage unblinded UTXOs directly in the wallet, laying the groundwork for Simplicity based applications
- Descriptors export - Export your wallet descriptors for watch-only setups and compatibility with other descriptor based wallets and tools
- LWK update - The latest Liquid Wallet Kit resolves an issue where a wallet balance would occasionally not be detected
- Bugfixes - Fixed an issue where some UTXOs could be missing from the wallet
Unblinded UTXOs: Simplicity Meets Liquid Connect
Simplicity is the Liquid Network's smart contract language, enabling programmable spending conditions and on chain financial contracts. Simplicity based applications typically work with explicit, unblinded transaction data. With unblinded UTXO management in the wallet, SideSwap users can now hold and spend the UTXOs these contracts require.
Combined with Liquid Connect, this closes the loop opened by 1.9.0: applications can connect to the SideSwap wallet, and users can interact with Simplicity based contracts - prediction markets, structured outcome contracts, and other on chain financial products - while maintaining full control of their private keys at all times.
Descriptors Export
Wallet descriptors describe precisely how a wallet derives its addresses. Exporting them from SideSwap enables watch-only balance monitoring in external tools, easier auditing, and smooth interoperability with the growing ecosystem of descriptor compatible Liquid software.
